The SLOCVCB was at an impasse with its tourism promotional efforts. Although successful to date, some programs were outmoded and needed adjusting to suit the changing tourism industry and visitor expectations.
In order to assess the current situation, SMG reviewed programs and budget allocations, and conducted interviews with a cross section of tourism professionals and local government officials. Following a thorough analysis of the collected research, SMG developed a long-term plan that identified opportunities and core strategies to effectively guide the VCB's marketing efforts and funding resources over the next five years.
To date, the SLOCVCB Board of Directors has adopted many of the proposed recommendations and is successfully improving the overall competitiveness of the destination.
The SLOCVCB recently retained SMG to develop an online marketing plan to optimize capabilities and target efforts as outlined in the long-term plan.
