Publisher's Note
As January begins, we at SMG have been doing a little
in-house review, assessing programs to determine which succeeded and why. It's helped us brainstorm new programs for 2006,
including our Vision & Strategic Direction Planning Retreat Services,
designed to help DMOs craft an overall strategic direction.
In this issue I look at a uniquely big idea, astrotourism,
which not too long ago was considered impossible, as some big ideas often are.
You'll also find two articles by Jenn Gleckman, Senior Consultant. The first, on marketing resolutions,
should help you identify workable resolutions for 2006. The second, on creating a Campaign
Measurement Index, was the result of some requests from our clients.
